ARHAR
It is grown on an area of about 400 hectares with an average production of 4.8 q/ha. Though it is not
widely grown in the State as the area indicates, there is a considerably scope of extension introduction in the
low hill areas of marginal lands under rainfall conditions. Good quality seed of local varieties may be grown. It
is mostly cultivated in Nurpur area of Kangra district, Poanta area of Sirmour and Hamirpur districts.
