Animal Husbandry and Dairying activities continue to be integral part of human life. As a sequel to the age old practices and dependence of population on livestock, Himachal Pradesh is endowed with the large livestock population.According to 18th LIVESTOCK CENSUS - 2007, total livestock population of H.P. is 52,11,087 which include 22,64,160 cattle, 7,60,687 buffaloes, 9,01,540 sheep,12,40,835 goats and 13,199 horses and ponies.
