Animal husbandry and dairy activities continue to be an integral part of human life |From past years practice on animal population; Himachal Pradesh is endowed with large populations of animals. According to the 18th Livestock Census 2007, the total population of animals in Himachal Pradesh is 5,211,087, out of which 2.264,160 cow cattle, 7.60 Lakh buffaloes, 9.01 Lakh sheep , 1240835 goats and 0.17 lakh horses and ponies .
