RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT-2005
INFORMATION IN RESPECT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY DEPARTMENT
HIMACHAL PRADESH
UNDER SUB-CLAUSE(II)

OF SECTION 4(1)(b) OF THE RTI ACT,2005.

 

Powers and Duties of the Officers and employees of the department.

 

(a) Director of Animal Husbandry
  1. Director Animal Husbandry being the Administrative and Professional head of the Animal Husbandry Department in the State, exercise all the Administrative and Financial Powers as enjoined upon the Heads of the Departments in the Himachal Pradesh Government.

  2. He shall act as a Chief Technical Advisor to the State Government on all matters relating to the Animal Husbandry Department.

  3. He shall control all the Animal Husbandry affairs in the State and shall issue special instructions considered necessary for administrative and professional reasons.

  4. Any major policy matter relating to the professional activity shall be undertaken by him in consultation with two other Senior Officers of the Department who are Specialists in their disciplines.

  5. He shall be responsible for preparation of the budget and appropriation proposals for the whole department for consideration and approval of the Govt.

  6. Submissions of all the reports and returns to the Government (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Progress reports).

  7. He shall exercise all the powers delegated to him by the Government and shall be directly answerable to the Govt.

(b) Joint Director of Animal Husbandry

 

  1. The Joint Director will assist the Director Animal Husbandry in the performance of his duties and responsibilities as stated above.

  2. He shall be required to inspect the institutions under his control and shall exercise all the administrative and financial powers of the controlling officer within his jurisdictions.

(c ) Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry

 

  1. He shall be responsible for all the Animal Husbandry Activities and for the implementation of various schemes within his jurisdiction.

  2. He shall be responsible for executing and monitoring the progress of various schemes as to their financial and physical achievements.

  3. He shall furnish all the reports and information to the Director, Animal Husbandry and any other controlling officer as required by them from time to time.

  4. He shall supervise and issue necessary instructions to its subordinate for the proper implementation of the schemes of the department from time to time.

(d) Assistant Director of Animal Husbandry

 

  1. He shall be responsible for all the Animal Husbandry Activities and implementation of various schemes within his jurisdiction.

(e) Senior Veterinary Officer of Animal Husbandry

 

  1. He shall be responsible for the execution of various schemes / programmes of the department within his sub-division.

  2. He shall supervise the working of Veterinary Hospitals and Veterinary Dispensaries in his Sub-Division.

  3. He shall act as a representative of the department in dealing with other departments at the Sub-Division Level.

(f) Veterinary Officer of Animal Husbandry

 

  1. He shall be responsible for the execution of various schemes/ programmes of the department within his jurisdiction.

  2. He shall be responsible for providing Animal Health/ Breeding Services in his institution.

  3. He shall be responsible for the supervision and monitoring of Animal Husbandry Activities in the institutions under his control/ jurisdiction.

(g) Animal Husbandry Assistant/ Veterinary Pharmacist

 

  1. They shall be responsible for the execution of Animal Husbandry Activities under the supervision and guidance of their concerned Veterinary Officers, Sr.Vety.Officers and Assistant Directors of the department.

  2.
