RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT-2005
INFORMATION IN RESPECT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY DEPARTMENT
HIMACHAL PRADESH
UNDER SUB-CLAUSE(II)

OF SECTION 4(1)(b) OF THE RTI ACT,2005.

 

Manner of execution of subsidy programmes, including the amounts allocated and the details of beneficiaries of such programmes.

 

At present the department is executing the following subsidy programmes:-

Livestock Insurance Scheme/Poultry Schemes/Feed and Fodder Scheme/Livestock Vaccination.

 

  • Livestock Insurance Scheme for elite Milch Animals( only in District of Mandi & Kangra) is being implemented by the department since March,2006. In this scheme, upto a maximum of two milch animals per beneficiary are covered under insurance for which Govt. of India Provides 50% subsidy on insurance premium for a period of three years comprehensive insurance.
  • 100 layers (6-8 weeks age) are distributed in the districts of Shimla, Una and Bilaspur with a maximum ceiling of subsidy amount of Rs. 3000/- per beneficiary.
  • 200 broiler chicks scheme:- Under this scheme Schedule Caste /Schedule Tribes families of Shimla District are covered upto a total annual income of Rs. 24000/-. In this scheme 200 broiler chicks along with feed, medicines, equipments etc. in two phases are provided with a maximum subsidy of Rs. 7500/- per beneficiary.
  • 100% transportation subsidy scheme is available on the cost of transportation of cattle feed in Tribal Areas of the State only.
  • Fodder Seed Mini Kits are being distributed under Demonstration Programme of Govt. of India (100% Subsidy).
  • Supply of Fodder Seed to Lady Farmers & Schedule Caste Farmers on 50% subsidy basis.
  • The department is also providing Free Vaccination of Foot & Mouth Disease, Hemorrhagic Septicemia, Black Quarter diseases ( FMD, H.S. & B.Q.) in cattle & buffaloes, PPR, Entero Toxemia in Sheep & Goats and Ranikhet and Marek's Disease in Poultry Birds.
