THE HIMACHAL PRADESH LIVESTOCK AND BIRD DISEASES ACT, 1968


An Act to provide for the prevention and control of diseases affecting livestock & birds.

CONTROL OF DISEASES
1 Power to regulate inter-State trade and to control transport of livestock & birds and thighs which may spread diseases.

Power to control the holding of markets, fairs, etc. 
3
Power to control traffic in infective livestock or birds. 
4
Cleansing and disinfection of vessels and vehicles.
5
Duty of certain persons to report scheduled diseases.
6
Power of Veterinary Surgeon to hold post-mortem. 
7
Power to isolate infective livestock or birds. 
8
Examination by the Veterinary Surgeon. 
9
Compensation for Livestock or birds destroyed. 
10
Power to require disinfection off premises, vessels or vehicles. 
11
Declaration of private infected places. 
12
Examination of infected places by the Veterinary Surgeon.
13
Declaration of public infected places. 
14
Declaration of infected areas by the Government. 
15
Removal of livestock or birds & any other tings from infected areas or   places.
16
Power to return livestock or birds to infected areas. 
17
Time for employing with and enforcement of orders. 
18
Recovery of expenses incurs under this chapter.
